Mega Mall Batam Center is one of the first buildings you will see when arriving at the Batam Center Ferry Terminal. It was built after DC Mall but before Nagoya Hill mall and has for a long time been one of Batam’s popular malls. If you’re an Apple user, you can use the Mega Mall App to help with your visit.
How to Get To Mega Mall Batam Center
From Singapore you can take ferries to Batam Center from both Harbour Front and Tanah Merah ferry terminals. Sindo ferries only operate from Harbour Front but both Majestic and Batam Fast have routes from both Harbour Front as well as Tanah Merah
From Harbour Bay ferry terminal Mega Mall is around 20 minutes by car, whereas from Sekupang and Nongsa ferry terminals the journey is between 30 minutes and an hour respectively.
On arrival you can access Mega Mall via a convenient walk bridge which connects the ferry terminal to the mall. You’ll actually find it much easier to start your vacation or day tour in Batam via the mall, because gets extremely congested in the ferry terminal at busy times. Whether you enter the mall from the footbridge or by one of the main entrances on the ground floor you will find a very expansive space to stroll around with several shops, department stores for you to browse as well as lots of choices for food.
Where to Stay Near Mega Mall Batam Center
The nearest hotel to Mega Mall is Harris Hotel Batam Center which is just over the road and a very short walk. Around a half mile walk is the Hotel 01 with it’s rather bizarre Egyptian theme. In addition there’s the Sahid Hotel Batam Center but that’s a fairly long walk and you may prefer to take some transport. Important though to point out that if you do choose to stay in this part of Batam Center, then you’ll need transport to the other malls, spas and Hawker centers in the Nagoya area.
Places of Interest Near to Mega Mall Batam Center
This area of Batam Center is often used for major events. So don’t be surprised to find many of the roads closed to facilitate markets and promotions. The Alun Alun park is a popular area to hang out. This is where you can take your ‘Welcome to Batam’ photos with the sign in the background.
A short walk from the mall is the Grand Mosque. Here you can simply look at the beautiful architecture or of course use it as a place of worship.
Not too far and close the newly built one mall is the Xoleil spa village where you can get pampered and relax.
A short taxi ride will take you to the Ocarina park. Known locally as Mega Wisata Ocarina, this is a small theme type park where you see the Coastarina sign from the ferry on arrival to Batam Center.

You will find the Matahari stores in almost all Indonesian Cities and most of the malls. Here you’ll find a huge selection of Ladies, Gents and Children’s wear as well as the largest selection of shoes you’ll ever see.
HyperMart
You need to take the rolling walking way down to the basement to get to Hypermart. Here you’ll find a huge supermarket and department store in one.
