Nagoya Food court is located opposite the Biz hotel in Nagoya and not too far from DC Mall. The nearest ferry terminal is Harbour Bay which is just a few minutes ride. From Batam Center it’s around 20 minutes, whereas from Sekupang and Nongsa ferry terminals the journey is between 30 minutes and an hour.

If you’ve been to Batam before then it’s close to the original A1 food court site where Nagoya City Walk is located. It is also walking distance (or you can take a free drop on us) when staying at our Batam apartments close to Nagoya Hill mall.
A lot of thought went in to the design of this food court. Nagoya Food Court is actually bigger than the very popular A2 food court down the road in the Penuin area. It has also attracted many of the vendors that sell at A2 to open up extra stalls here too.
We can also incorporate Nagoya Food Court into a day tour package for you. It’s a popular location for our guests to have dinner at the end of the day. Contact us here for further information.
There are three main areas where you can sit. The indoor area is open from 6am and is covered which guarantees you a dry place to eat or drink. The main outdoor area is adjacent and opens late afternoon until 1am. In addition, there’s also an upstairs area which is also split into covered and open.
Wherever you sit in Nagoya Food Court you’ll be surrounded by a huge choice of food. There are even stalls upstairs, notably a Japanese restaurant.
Food Choices at Nagoya Food Court Batam
I’ll do my best here to take you on a virtual tour of the food court. Both inside and out as well as give a brief description of each stall.
Before that though here’s a virtual walk through of the stalls.
Sweat Heart Vegetarian
If you take a closer look at the menu here, you’ll see that there’s actually not that many vegetarian dishes here. Aside from the Batagor (Bakso Tahu Goreng) the only other dishes I could see were Jamur Goreng (Fried Mushroom). However the stall owner assured me that they had other offerings that would suit vegetarians.
Iwan Prata
No food court is complete without a Prata and Martabak stall. Martabak is the Indonesian version of pancakes with all sorts of crazy flavour combinations. Perata of course is a common favorite and delicious with a spicy dip as well as served as a sweet variety. Iwan are a well known stall with a popular outlet at Harbour Bay ferry terminal.
Tau Kua He Gi
This is a special Medan Food. The main emphasis is on the Tofu which has special fillings. The dish is served with vegetables, bean sprouts shrimp and a special sauce. Very popular with Chinese Indonesians.
Yao Chai Zhu Du Thang
The emphasis here is on Chinese Indonesian pork dishes. I’ll update this further once I’ve had a chance to sample some of their delicious looking dishes as well as get a lesson in what the names all mean.
Yong Tahu at Nagoya Food Court
Yong Tahu is popular all over Batam. Wherever you find a group of street stalls together, you’ll probably also find Yong Tahu. Tofu is the main in ingredient of course but you can also mix and match your preferences with fish balls as well as lots of other vegetable choices. Although not strictly vegetarian, you can ask the stall owner to make veggie dish from the many ingredients that they have.
One Bowl Fish Soup & Soup Ikan Ahong
Fish soup Batam style is considered a famous dish throughout Indonesia nowadays. Served in several different styles of fish soup and you can choose whether to have noodles, nasi (rice) bihun (vermicelli) or Kway teow (rice noodles) to accompany. For me this is the perfect dish for lunch as it’s delicious, filling and doesn’t leave you feeling like you want to sleep haha.
One Bowl is available all day in the covered area but Ahong is in the outdoor area so you can only buy it at night.
Mie Pangsit Ayam
If you’re not familiar with the term pangsit, it means Wonton. Of course genuine Chinese Wonton is usually made from pork but with pork being a Halal meat, you’ll often find it made with chicken as it is here. The Pangsit here is served with noodles, kwetiau, bihun or as a wonton soup. If you’re in the mood for snacking, they can also be deep fried and make a great sharing dish for you and your friends.
If you prefer your Won-ton made with pork, read on for other options as there are several Pangsit stalls at Nagoya Food Court.
5 Sisters Nasi Lemak
Nasi lemak is a favorite wherever you go in the region. The flavor of course differs depending on where it’s served. At 5 sisters they have Malaysian as Javanese varieties as well as other dishes for you to try. In addition they serve a tasty lontong sayur dish as well as Shark Fin soup. You can add a fried chicken wing to any of the dishes if you need a little extra as it’s served as a portion or per piece.
Sapo Bubur Chok Abun
Porridge is the dish here. there’s several varieties for you to choose from including made with pork. Just the thin g to get you started in the morning and judging by the morning queues it’s very popular.
Mie Ekonomi at Nagoya Food Court
There’s a Mi Ekonomi stall in practically every Batam Food court and here there are 2. One in the covered area as well as another that opens night in the outdoor area. As the name would suggest it’s all about an economic meal. But don’t let the title put you off. I’ve eaten several dishes at Mi Ekonomi stalls and they’re usually very tasty. With prices starting from Rp 16k or $1.50 you can’t go wrong. Lots of choice too from kwetiau to bihun as well as seafood and meat varieties.
Bebek Hong Kong
This is a Chinese roast meat stall. Although the title says Hong Kong, if you’re used to Hong Kong Cantonese flood you’ll find this doesn’t really taste the same. However it is tasty. The Cha Siu is very nice but they don’t specialize whole ducks. For that you’d be best to go to Grand Duck which is opposite BCS mall or the Duck King at Nagoya City Walk.
Soto Medan
Wherever you go in Indonesia, you’ll find regional soto dishes, and they all taste different. I’ve hyet to come across one that tastes better than sloto Medan though. I suspect it’s the use of Santan (Coconut) that makes the difference. If you’ve never tasted soto Medan you really must do so it’s yummy. On this stall though, as well as soto Medan you’ll find other soups including beef, tom yum and seafood.
Hokkian Mie
We eat here more than anywhere else in Batam. You will find the Kwetiau goreng and Kwetiau Siram is to die for. The owner also has a store at A2 food court. Some dishes here are so popular that they run out early evening so be sure to get there early enough to enjoy it.
Bak Kuh Teh
For me the best Bask Kuh Teh is to be found at Shuang Hong at Nagoya Hill Mall and Pasir Putih. This however is also very nice and full of flavor. There’s different variation s to order with rice and noodle options. But if you want Bak Kuh Teh you will always find it tastes with cha kue.
Ania Sate Mie
Pay close attention to the pictures here folks! Because this is not the Sate that you’re probably thing of. This stall serves a variety of soup type dishes. Asd you can see in the photo, the Sate Mie is a noodle dish with prawns cha kue and vegetables. The Mie Sikam, Laksa and Pat Lai Teng are also very popular. be careful if you don’t like it too spicy.
Brotherlicious & Nasi Ayam Hainan 66
If you’ve come from Singapore then Nasi Ayam Hainan is possibly not on the menu as you can get it pretty much everywhere, including Michelin Star varieties. it’s often very good in Batam too aswell as cheaper at only $2 and an extra 50 cents if you want a salty egg.
Herbal Chicken
How do you fancy eating black chicken? Well it’s just one of the many different herbal chicken dishes on offer here. This is quite new to Batam but is increasingly popular. This stall used to be at Food center 28 in Batam Center but judging by the demand here they made the right choice to move.
MM Sio Bak Medan
This is the best roast pork you will find in Batam. You can also find the same retailer at A2 and Eatern Food courts where it’s call MM Roasted Pork. The taste is delicious and probably due to the fact that the stall owner imports the pork specially from Medan where it’s what you may consider more wild than the farmed stuff locally. He also serves really nice Cha siu.
All About Chicken
Okay so you’re bored eating chicken. Well give this a try cos the flavors used are a great way to make fried chicken exciting again. Lemon , Butter, Honey and Black Pepper give your chicken a bit of a delightful kick. The Chicken meat balls with mozzarella are exquisite and a must try.
Mie Pangsit Bak
This is essentially a pork stall rather than just Mie Pangsit (Wonton). If you prefer your Wonton madce of pork this stall operates only at night although there is another that served pork Wonton in the indoor area open all day and night. Besides the Pangsit there’s lots of other pork dishes including Hokkien Mie and pork merica.
Aheng Ombak
Aheng Ombak is another pork specialist stall with an emphasis on local dishes cooked with pork.
Sate Pui Ceh
How do you feel about eating crocodile? Well you can get it here on Sate sticks. They also serve pork and chicken sate as well as squid.
D’Wings BBQ
No food court in Batam is complete without a BBQ chicken wing stall. Delicious flavoring of honey and spices makes this a real favorite choice for you to enjoy. You can also get deep fried garlic chicken which is also very tasty.
Masakan Khas Manado
Here you can find flavors from another part of Indonesia, namely Manado in Sulawesi. They have porridge and lots of vegetable dishes so an ideal place for you to order side dishes to accompany other orders. Ayam Rica from this part of the world is a must try.
New Cabe Ijo
If you want to try authentic Indonesian street food then cabe ijo is a hit with most of the locals. Pretty spicy though so make sure you can tolerate the chilli before you order.
Aiko Dimsum Nagoya Food Court Batam
You’l be pleased to learn that there’s finally a great place to eat Dim Sum in Batam at Nagoya Food court Batam. The dishes are only Rp 20k ($2) and taste amazing. This is the perfect dish to accompany your other orders and I fully recommend you try it.
Happy Family Loklok
You will always find a lok lok stall at food courts. Lok-lok menu is primarily foods you would use for steam boat including meats and vegetables served like satay on a skewer. There’s a vast choice at this Lok Lok stall so you won’t be disappointed.
Steam Nut
You’ll often see the locals sharing plate of fresh nuts when gathered in food courts in Batam. In addition to the nuts there’s other offerings too. If you like Corn on the Cob (Jagung) they serve it in chocolate, cheese spicy and other flavors too.
Jee’s Indian Food at Nagoya Food Court
I’m really pleased to finally see an Indian food stall at a Batam food court. Many have tried before but never really succeeded. So I really hope this one makes it. The choice is quite good, but of course not as complete as you’ll find in other Indian Restaurants in Batam.
If you’re like me you’ll be a fan of the Tandoori, but the other dishes look really good too. Of course they also do Martabak and Prata.
Seafood at Nagoya Food Court Batam
There are several stalls offering seafood at Nagoya Food Court, But the bottom line is that if you want great seafood then you really should go to specialist Batam seafood outlets.
